DAY 1 : TRAVEL TO BHADRACHALAM & SIGHTSEEING

Travel from Hyderabad to Bhadrachalam

At a distance of 500 m from Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple and 2.5 km from Bhadrachalam Bus Stand, Godavari Ghat is a bathing ghat on the banks of River Godavari in Bhadrachalam. It is a holy ghat in Bhadrachalam and among the top places to visit in Bhadrachalam.

Godavari Ghat is one of the most important religious sites in Bhadrachalam and is considered as the main ghat. Many pilgrims consider it mandatory to take a ritual dip in the Godavari before paying a visit to Lord Rama in the temple as it is believed to be purifying for the soul. Bhadrachalam is one among the popular places where the Godavari river festival is set to be celebrated on a grand scale. The Ghat has well built in steps and changing rooms.

Boating is also available here. The boulevard that runs along the river has pictorial depictions of stories and scenes from the Ramayana.

At a distance of 2 km from Bhadrachalam Bus Station, Sri Sita Rama Temple is a magnificent temple situated close to the banks of River Godavari. Bhadrachalam is a major pilgrim town in Telangana. Parnasala, near Bhadrachalam is believed to be the place where Lord Rama along with Sita and Lakshmana stayed during their 14-year exile in forests. Ravana abducted Sita at this place in the absence of Rama and Lakshmana.

This temple was built by Kancherla Gopanna popularly known as Bhakta Ramadasu in the year of 1630 AD. Gopanna was the Tahsildar of Bhadrachalam and constructed the temple using public donations. But the Golconda Sultans were misled and felt that Gopanna had misused the government funds to build the temple. He was imprisoned in a dungeon at Golconda Fort. At a distance of 35 km from Bhadrachalam, Parnasala is a pilgrimage place situated at Parnasala village in the newly formed Bhadradri Kothagudem district (formerly in Khammam district) of Telangana, India. It is one of the several Hindu temples connected with Epic Ramayana, and among the must-include places in Bhadrachalam tour packages.

Parnasala holds a significant value in mythology. According to legend, Lord Sri Rama spent some of the 14 years of exile at this location. Parnasala is said to be the place where the evil-minded demon king Ravan abducted Goddess Sita. Another story states that this historical village is the place where Maricha was killed by Lord Shri Ram when he came in disguise as a golden deer to deceive Goddess Sita.

A small hut in Parnasala consists of the beautifully painted sculptures of Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshman. Here, one can see Seethavagu, where the beloved consort of Rama bathed, and Naracheeralu, where goddess Sitha dried her clothes on 'Radhagutta'. .....

DAY 2 : TRAVEL TO MAREDUMILLI & SIGHTSEEING

Travel from Bhadrachalam to Maredumilli

At a distance of 21 km from Chinturu and 30 km from Maredumilli, Sokuleru Vagu Viewpoint is a mesmerizing viewpoint situated on Bhadrachalam - Maredumilli Road in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.

Visitors can get a panoramic view of the Sokuleru Vagu winding its way through the deep forests and beautiful hills of Eastern Ghats from this point. The Tourism Department built a platform for the convenience of the visitors here. One can take some beautiful photographs with the backdrop of thick forested hills from the viewpoint.

At a distance of 15 km from Maredumilli Bus Stand, Amruthadhara is a beautiful waterfall situated on Rajahmundry - Bhadrachalam Highway near Maredumilli in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. It is a seasonal waterfalls and one of the must visit places in Maredumilli as part of Vizag tour packages.

Amruthadhara is formed over a seasonal stream amidst forest and steep rocks. During monsoon this small waterfall is in full gush and would be a heaven for nature lovers. The waterfall is in two stages. This place is not so comfortable to take bath but one can slide.

One needs to climb down a steep pathway of 1 km to reach the waterfalls from the entrance. It will take 1 hour to visit the falls. The trekking path is very slippery and strenuous. The waterfall is maintained by local tribes and they maintain the area by making steps and preparing easy Jungle path with side barricade supports. There is ample space for parking the .....

At a distance of 13 km from Maredumilli Bus Stand, Manyam Viewpoint is a vantage point situated on Rajahmundry - Bhadrachalam Highway near Maredumilli in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Situated between Amruthadhara and Jalatarangini waterfalls, it is one of the best places to visit in Maredumilli.

Visitors can get a panoramic view of the landscape, beautiful valleys of Maredumilli from this point. The Tourism department built a platform for the convenience of the visitors here. With tall rhododendron trees, high hills, flowering sub-alpine shrubs and herbs, Manyam Viewpoint is one of the wonderful places to visit in Maredumilli for nature enthusiasts. One can take some beautiful photographs with the backdrop of thick forested hills from the viewpoint.

At a distance of 7 km from Maredumilli Bus Stand, Jalatharangini is a picturesque waterfall situated on Rajahmundry - Bhadrachalam Highway at Maredumilli village of East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. It is a seasonal waterfall and also one of the must visit places in Maredumilli.

Jalatharangini Waterfalls is a cascade of running water amidst forest and rocks. This is a multi-tier waterfall. During monsoon this small waterfall is in full gush and would be a heaven for nature lovers. The water of the fall is crystal clear and one can take a bath under the falls.

One needs to walk 150 m to reach the falls from the entry point which takes 30 minutes. The trekking path is slippery and little strenuous. The waterfall is maintained by local tribes and they maintain the area by making steps and preparing easy Jungle path with side barricade supports. There is an ample of parking space for the vehicles.

DAY 3 : VISIT KINNERASANI DAM - NELAKONDAPALLI & TRAVEL TO HYDERABAD

At a distance of 11 km from Palvoncha, 40 km from Bhadrachalam, 102 km from Khammam and 297 km from Hyderabad, Kinnerasani Dam is located at Yanambile in Khammam district of Telangana. The dam is situated inside Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary.

The Kinnerasani Dam was constructed in 1966 on the Kinnerasani River, one of the important tributaries of Godavari River. The dam provides water to Kothagudem Thermal Power Station at Palvoncha for power generation. It also provides irrigation facilities to the nearby farmers through lift Irrigation.

Kinnerasani Dam is situated in a beautiful location surrounded by greenery and natural landscape. A Glass House constructed by Singareni Collieries at Kinnerasani has improved the spot as a tourism place. A deer park housing little over 80 spotted deer nearby the scenic Kinnerasani dam site is the major attraction for tourists. The vast Kinnerasani reservoir harbors number of crocodiles .....

At a distance of 22 km from Khammam, 111 km from Nalgonda and 200 km from Hyderabad, Nelakondapalli is an important Buddhist excavation site in Telangana located in Khammam District.

Nelakondapalli is a historic Buddhist site with Stupas and Buddha idols. The site was found during the excavations conducted in 1977. Excavations have unearthed foundations of brick built Viharas, wells, cisterns, a Mahastupa, a bronze idol of Buddha, a miniature Stupa carved in limestone and other materials from the third and fourth centuries.

Nelakondapalli is associated with the Hindu epic Mahabharata. The Virata Raju Dibba and Keechaka Gundam, archaeological evidences from the period of the Mahabharata are located 1.6 km from Nelakondapalli.
