At a distance of 0.5 Km from Mangalore Railway Station, Milagres Church also known as the Church of Our Lady of Miracles is the most popular church in Mangalore.

This church was first built in 1680 by Bishop Thomas de Castro and it's famous for its beautiful architecture. The church has a wonderful altar with a French painting of St Monica and St Augustine. Mounted on pedestals are six statues of apostles and the facade with the statues similar to the St. Peter's Basilica, Rome. The main altar with the statue of Our Lady contains the superscription 'Altare Previlegiatum'. It is a magnificent monolithic marble altar, the gift of the late Mr. Nicholas Britto.
