Melody World Wax Museum, Mysore - Timings, Entry Fee, History & Artifacts

At a distance of 5 km from Mysore Railway Station, Melody World Wax Museum is a musical themed museum situated on Chamundi Hill Road in Mysore. Next to Karanji Lake, it is one of the popular wax museums in India, and among the prime places to visit in Mysore.

Melody Wax Museum was conceptualized and developed by an IT professional named Shreeji Bhaskaran. Started in 2010, this museum is maintained and managed by sophisticated computer technology. The museum was built in honor of musicians across the globe. The museum houses the largest collection of musical instruments in Karnataka. Each wax exhibit is a brilliant work of art that reflects the talent of the sculptor and his deep passion for his art.

Melody World Wax Museum has 19 galleries with each gallery presenting a unique experience of the world of music and art. Approximately 300 musical instruments, both Indian instruments and Western instruments, have been displayed in different settings of bands and stages. Some of the popular representations of bands are Indian Classical music, such as Hindustani and Carnatic, Punjabi Bhangra, Middle East, Chinese, Tribal, Jazz, Hip Hop, Rock, etc.

The museum also boasts 110 life-sized wax statues. There are a few exhibits that are more socially relevant. There is also a grand statue of the erstwhile king of Mysore, Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodiyar which is a special attraction at the museum.
