At a distance of 30 Kms from Sringeri towards Kudremukh, Ganga Moola (also known as Tunga Moola) is the birth place of three rivers Tunga, Bhadra and Netravati. It is located in thick forests of Western Ghats in Chickmagalur District.

At an altitude of 1458 meters, this place is also known as Varaha Parvatha. This place is located within the boundaries of Kudremukh National Park. A small shrine for Goddess Bhagavathi along with Lord Varaha is built in a cave at the place where one of the rivers is originated.

River Tunga flows in a north passing the towns of Sringeri, Thirthahalli and Shimoga. After flowing for 147 kms, it joins the River Bhadra at Koodli near Shimoga to form Tungabhadra River. River Bhadra flows east passing the town of Bhadravathi and joins the Tunga at Koodli. River Netravathi flows west, passing through Dharmasthala and Mangalore and joins the Arabian Sea.

Ganga Moola can be reached by trekking for about 2 Kms from main road between Sringeri & Kudremukh.
