At a distance of 3 Kms from Palakkad Railway Station, the Jain Temple at Jainamedu is believed to be around 500 years old and it's the most famous Jain temple of Kerala.
Dedicated to the Jain sage Chandranathswamy, this historic granite temple is 32 feet long and 20 feet wide with images of Jain Thirthankaras and Yakshinis. It is here that poet Kumaranasan wrote his monumental poet Veenapoovu (The fallen flower). This temple was built by Jain head, Inchanna Satur.
An idol of Chandranthan occupies the first division of the temple, Vijayalakshmi and Jwalamohini the second, Rish abha Nathan the third, and parswa Nathan and Padmavathi the fourth.
