At a distance of 9 Kms from Palakkad Railway Station, Thiruvalathoor is famous for 3000 years old temple dedicated to Lord Siva.
The wooden carvings and stone sculptures of the temple are marvelously carved. It is said that the art work of the temple was completed in one day. The temple has a cone shaped roof and whitewashed walls full of oil lamps. The temple is situated on the banks of Chittur Puzha River.
This place is accessed via Kodumba and connected with regular buses from Palakkad. The main festivals celebrated in the temple are Mahashivratri and Kartikpoornima.
