Situated between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea, Thiruvananthapuram means the City of Lord Anantha in Sanskrit and Malayalam. The name derives from the deity of Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple, one of the must-visit places as part of Trivandrum tour packages.
