Kanakakunnu Palace, Trivandrum - Timings, History, Best Time to Visit

At a distance of 3.5 Kms from Trivandrum Central Railway Station, The Kanakakunnu Palace is situated near the Napier Museum. It is place where the Travancore royal family once entertained their guests. Today the palace and its sprawling grounds are the venue for many cultural meets and programs.

An all India Dance Festival (October to March) is organized here every year. During this period the classical Indian Dance Performances are conducted every day. The Palace is a perfect example for the artistic quality of the people of Thiruvananthapuram.

The Indian National Trust for Arts and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) has documented the palace as a heritage monument.
