At a distance of 9 km from Indore Junction, Bijasan Mata Mandir is a small Hindu temple located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Situated near Indore Airport, it is one of the beautiful places to visit in Indore.
Bijasan Mata Temple is dedicated to Bijasen Mata, who is said to be a form of Goddess Durga. Perched upon the Tekri Hill, the temple was built in the Maratha style by Maharaja Shivajirao Holkar of Indore in the year 1760. Bijasan Mata Temple houses nine forms of Goddess here. Bijasan Mata is considered the mother of good fortune and son. This is the reason that after marriage people come here for Darshan and worship the goddess.
The place is naturally beautiful, and the visitors can get a magnificent view of the sunset from the hilltop and enjoy the breathtaking view of Indore city during the night. Also, there is a guesthouse of Holkars located on top of the hill, which is now converted into the Arms Museum of Border Security Force. Besides, the surrounding area of Bijasen Tekri is developed into a beautiful garden with a small lake.
The main festivals celebrated here are Navaratri and Saraswati Pooja. During the nine-day Navaratri festival, a grand fair is also organized here every year.
