At a distance of 4 km from Ujjain Junction, Ram Janardhan Temple is a sacred temple located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Situated near Sandipani Ashram, it is one of the significant attractions in Ujjain.
Built-in the 17th century, Ram Janardhan Temple in Ujjain was built by Mirza Raja Jaisingh. It has the temples of Shree Ram and Janardan (Vishnu). The site appears to have been an ancient temple site as many of the images installed therein belong to the 11th and 12th centuries. During the eighteenth century, some new structures were also added to the temple by the Marathas.
Ram Janardhan Mandir is a perfect example of the elegant and fabulous architectural structural style of the Maratha period. The images of Govardhandhari Krishna, Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh are very striking for their architectural grandeur and sculptural excellence. The imposing and classic Maratha paintings decorate the walls add to the overall appeal of the temple.
