Kamala Nehru Park, Pune - Timings, Entry Fee, Best Time to Visit

At a distance of 6 km from Pune Junction, Kamala Nehru Park is a well-maintained garden situated on Dr. Ketkar Road in Erandwana locality of Pune. It is one of the must see tourist places in Pune.

Kamala Nehru Park, situated in proximity to Deccan Gymkhana, was inaugurated in 1956 and is named in honor of Kamala Nehru, the spouse of India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Spanning approximately 10 acres, this park is publicly owned and overseen by the Pune Municipal Corporation. It is recognized as one of the most lush and picturesque gardens within Pune city.

The park features a jogging track, a children's playground, a fountain, and two expansive lawns. Visitors can enjoy the fresh air provided by the 330 various trees planted throughout the area. Majestic trees such as peepal, mango, Ashok, and sandal offer essential shade during warm summer evenings. The park is adorned with a variety of vibrant flowers that enhance its visual appeal. It serves as an excellent location for morning and evening strolls, while also providing swings and slides for children, making it an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Additionally, the park houses a real HF-24 Marut fighter jet, manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, which was utilized during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971 and was retired in 1985. A separate dancing fountain, which comes to life with music each evening, adds to the park's charm. There are several well-distributed seating areas and intricately carved animal figures in the bushes. Visitors can also explore a small Bonsai Garden within Kamala Nehru Park, established in 1990.
