Muttom Beach, Kanyakumari - Timings, Water Sports, Best Time to Visit

At a distance of 18 km from Nagercoil, and 31 km from Kanyakumari, Muttom Beach is a pristine sea beach located on the west coast near Muttom town of Tamil Nadu. It is one of the best places to visit as part of Kanyakumari family packages.

Situated along the coast of Arabian Sea, Muttom Beach is one of the most scenic beaches in Kanyakumari. The beach is known for its enchanting beauty, tranquil atmosphere, and distinctive rock formations. It features a unique blend of fine black and white sand, where the typical white sand contrasts with the remarkable black sand, known for its mineral-rich properties that may provide therapeutic advantages for those who stroll barefoot along the shoreline.

Muttom Beach is distinguished by its large rocks flanking both sides, creating a dramatic landscape where waves crash against the boulders, offering a captivating view. Sitting on a rock with feet in the water, one can enjoy the mesmerizing sight of the waves and the soothing sounds of the ocean. The steep rocky cliffs of Muttom Beach are secured with stainless steel railings for safety. Muttom Beach serves as a serene alternative to the crowded Kanyakumari Beach. Additionally, one can also visit a lighthouse built during the British colonial era stands nearby. The construction of the lighthouse began in 1857 and was completed in 1882. A children's park is also located in the vicinity. Visitors should not overlook All Saints Church, a charming Catholic Church showcasing Portuguese architectural style, which is a must-see when in the area.
