At a distance of 2 km from Thanjavur Junction Railway Station, Rajarajan Mani Mandapam is a beautiful monument in Thanjavur. Situated near Brihadeeswara Temple, it is one of the must visit tourist places in Thanjavur.

Rajarajan Mani Mandapam was constructed to honor the illustrious Chola King Rajaraja Chola during the 8th World Tamil Conference in 1995. This exquisite edifice is designed in the architectural style characteristic of the Chola era. The ground floor accommodates a museum, established in 1984 to celebrate the 1000th birth anniversary of Rajaraja Chola, renowned as the most distinguished king of Thanjavur.

The museum, managed by the state Archaeology Department, features an impressive collection of sculptures, bronze statues, paintings, coins, and various artifacts aimed at captivating visitors. Among its highlights is a striking statue of Rajaraja Chola. Additionally, the well-maintained garden within the premises provides a delightful space for children, complete with swings, slides, and other recreational facilities.
