At a distance of 1.2 km from Wadapally Bus Stand, 26 km from Miryalaguda, 68 km Nalgonda and 172 km from Hyderabad, Sri Meenakshi Agastheeshwara Swamy Temple is located at Wadapally in Nalgonda District of Telangana.
This is an ancient and sacred temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. Constructed by Kakatiya rulers in 12th century, Sri Meenakshi Agastheswara Swamy Temple is located at the confluence of the rivers Krishna and Musi, giving it great religious significance. This Temple is a unique temple of Lord Shiva which is renowned for the miracle of continuous water flow from the head of the Shivalinga in the sanctum. Even if water is removed, the original level of the water never changes.
According to the legend, the famous Agasthya Maharshi is believed to have installed the idols of Sri Meenakshi Agastheswara and Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy 6000 years ago at the confluence of the rivers Krishna and Musi. Later, when excavation was undertaken by the local rulers, the idols of Lord Shiva were unearthed and reinstalled in the temple.
