At a distance of 18 km from Abu Dhabi International Airport, Emirates Park Zoo is a wildlife park located just off the highway to Dubai, at Al Bahia locality of Abu Dhabi. It is one of the top places to visit in Abu Dhabi.

The Emirates Park Zoo opened up as a small feeding farm in 2008 and is Abu Dhabi's first private zoo. It was expanded into a full-blown zoo in 2012. Since then the management has worked hard at maintaining the zoo to high standards and adding attractions to bring in more visitors over the years. The Emirates Park Zoo is home to more than 1,400 species of animals, including birds, reptiles, mammals and other wildlife. It is one of the best places to take your kids in Abu Dhabi and provides for lively entertainment for the adults too.

The zoo is divided into different zones namely Camel Farm, Crocodile Pool, Hippo House, Birds of Prey, Mammal Cave, Equine Enclosure, Giraffe Park, Bird Park, Reptile House, Snake Alley, and Bear Cave. There is also a Primate Section, with many different types of monkeys, and a flamingo park with a sea lion enclosure. It provides the visitors with a chance to interact with pets and domestic animals such as ostriches, sheep, goats and other farm animals at the Petting Zoo. One can also have a chance to closely interact with birds like owls, falcons, parrots, and eagles at the Bird Park or spend time with the wading birds at Flamingo Park.

Easily one of the most exciting attractions in Emirates Park Zoo, the wildlife walk is home to three playful lions, several majestic tigers, two rescued cheetahs who have beaten cancer, two rather lazy leopards, an unbelievably good looking pair of white tigers and some regal Asian elephants. You can also see some varieties of deer, oryx, and other herbivores too in this area. Visitors can also feed the elephants in this zone. The zoo's Reptile House is home to lizards, pythons, water dragons, tortoise and geckos. Visitors can also get up-close with the majestic animals and reptiles at Snakes Alley, Giraffe Park and Primate Parade.

One of the other interesting things to do in Emirates Park Zoo is to watch the Sea Lion show which includes juggling, break-dancing, and flipper standing by its resident sea lions. The 20-minute long show takes place at scheduled times throughout the day. Visitors can also enjoy the magic show and the traditional African music performances by the Emirates Park Zoo's band. Besides, the Emirates Park Zoo has a range of facilities such as a gaming arcade, a nursery for children, a clinic attached to the nursery, a children's salon, a souvenir shop and handicrafts. There are also a few restaurants and cafes in the zoo.

The zoo also features a resort hotel connected to the zoo, with the options of staying in rooms, family chalets, and family suites. The Emirates Park Resort provides air-conditioned accommodation to its guests, with views of the various animal zones in the zoo.
