At a distance of 1.5 km from Haridwar Junction Railway Station and 500m from Har Ki Pauri, Kushavarta Ghat or Kusha Ghat is one of the famous ghats in Haridwar.
This Ghat was constructed by a Maratha queen Ahilyabai Holkar. Kushavarta Ghat is associated with the great saint of ancient times - Dattatreya. According to the history, this is the ghat where Dattatreya offered his penance by standing on one foot for thousand years.
It is one of the ideal spots for devotees who wish to perform Shraddha rites for the departed souls and mundan ceremony for kids. This Ghat was bit over crowded throughout the year as holy rituals take place here each day.
